I’ve been making smoothies a lot lately.  They have allowed me to consume more fruit in one sitting that way they don’t go to waste sitting in the fridge.  There has definitely been an improvement in my poops as far as consistency and texture goes.  I have a lot more energy and haven’t been getting as tired lately.  I looked into smoothies a little more and found a few interesting facts, many of which seem like common sense.

One benefit of consuming nutrients in liquid form is the fact that your body doesn’t need to spend as much energy breaking down solid food.  The liquid state allows for more efficient absorption and use of the nutrients in our systems. Another great benefit is that the liquid smoothie helps flush out toxins and all that nasty stuff that hangs out in your stomach and intestinal tract.  Healthy bowels mean more efficient digestion of nutrients which means healthy poops!

Happy Pooping! 🙂

Lentil Soup (Poop Soup) recipe – from the A Collection of Family Favorites Family Cookbook.

I just made a lentil soup last week and it’s the first “real” meal with several ingredients I’ve ever prepared and cooked on my own.  It turned out great and my poops have turned out even greater! According to nutritionist and health writer, August McLaughlin, over 20% of our daily recommended fiber intake can be achieved by consuming just one serving of lentils!  Fiber is key in regular bowel movements which when in an imbalance, can lead to loose stools, incomplete poop sessions and constipation.  Even hemorrhoids can be relieved with increased fiber intake.  DON’T FORGET TO DRINK LOTS OF WATER DAILY.  You can eat all the fiber you want, but if there’s no lube in the engine, the work will be strenuous and painful.  For more health benefits of lentils, just click on August McLaughlin and you will be swiftly taken to her article on the matter.
